What do I do if the downloaded text or forms are unreadable?
If the downloaded text or forms are unreadable after you print them out, please call (202) 358-4180 and request a package. Please clearly state your name, address, and telephone number as part of your message. A package will be mailed to you the following day.
Who can propose to this Announcement?
All categories of institutions and scientists are eligible to submit proposals in response to this NRA. Multi-institutional consortium arrangements also are eligible: the applying entity may collaborate with universities, Federal Government laboratories, private sector, and state and local government laboratories. In all such arrangements, the applying entity is expected to be responsible for administering the project according to the management approach presented in the proposal.Special instructions for foreign proposers are also included in the NRA.
Are hard copies of this Announcement available from NASA?
Hard copies of the NRA can be obtained by calling (202) 358-4180, and leaving a voice message that includes name, complete address, and phone number. If requested, a copy will be mailed to the requester as soon as the message is received. The hard copy will contain the same information as the internet version.
Will late proposals be accepted?
All proposals must be received at the address indicated in the NRA/AO by the specified due date(s). Waivers to this policy can only be granted by the appropriate NASA point of contact listed in the NRA/AO.
Can I fax or electronically send my proposal, and mail in hard copy later?
No facsimilies or electronic submittals of proposals are accepted. Electronic submission of Letters of Intent (LOI) will be accepted. Electronic submissions of the LOI can be submitted online or via E-mail as indicated in the NRA/AO or on the NRA page.
Are completed copies of all forms required?
Yes, all forms must be completed and submitted with your proposal. The only exception is the "Flight Experiment Supplemental Information" form which is not required for ground-based proposals. An original signed document must be submitted for Form A. The original, signed document is also required for the IRB or ACUC letter/form regarding protocol approval, if necessary. (The IRB and ACUC does not apply to Microgravity NRAs)
If I have any questions regarding this Research Announcement, who at NASA should be contacted?
The respective Program Managers/Scientists are listed at the beginning of the Announcement. Please contact the appropriate Manager/Scientist if there are any questions on the specific programs/program emphasis.
Can I propose investigations that are not related to the program emphases listed in the NRA?
Investigations that fall outside the identified program emphases are discouraged. Proposals are evaluated and selected based on scientific merit and relevance to the NASA programs.
